Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 17:00

Areas of Focus:

·       Kindergarten Meilenstein’s spacious classrooms and outdoor terrace provide the children the opportunity to move about freely and be constantly active throughout the day. This facilitates their development concerning coordination and movement and allows them to explore and learn about physical boundaries.  

·       Since Kindergarten Meilenstein has its own kitchen, our children enjoy freshly prepared meals with regional products and ingredients every day. The children also benefit from the opportunity to assist in meal preparation, which enhances their learning about healthy nutrition and proper food preparation.

·       Creating personal development portfolios for the children is a priority at Kindergarten Meilenstein. They are a way of keeping track of the children’s growth and development throughout the year and they provide the children, teachers and parents the ability to reflect on past achievements and accomplishments. The portfolios include items such as paintings, songs and photos.

·       Kindergarten Meilenstein places great emphasis on creative thinking and exploring the senses, which is why we integrate these aspects into our daily activities and pedagogical practices.

·       Each group has a native English speaker, who provides the children at Kindergarten Meilenstein the opportunity to discover and learn the English language in a fun, pedagogical and nurturing manner. This guarantees the children’s bilingual development. 

·       Due to the importance of digital media in today’s society, Kindergarten Meilenstein helps our children discover digital media in a safe and pedagogical fashion, so that they can learn to interact with technology in a reflective and critical way.

Daily Routine:

Whilst Kindergarten Meilenstein values a set daily routine in order to ensure a safe and emotionally secure environment for our children, we also stress the importance of being flexible based on our children’s concentration levels, disposition and personal interests. Therefore, the duration of the phases in our daily routine can be adapted to fit our children’s needs.

Daily Routine:

07:00 – 08:30: Arrival and free play

09:00 – 09:30: Morning snack

09:30 – 09:45: Morning circle

09:45 - 10:30: Structured learning and concentration phase

10:30 - 12:00: Movement based activities and free play

12:00 – 12:30: Lunchtime

12:30 – 14:00: Structured learning and concentration phase followed by free play

14:30 – 15:00: Afternoon snack

15:00 – 17:00: Pick-up time and free Play 

Celebrations and Festivities:

Traditions and festivals are a part of our pedagogical approach and play an important role in our kindergarten. Celebrations and holidays help the children learn more about the seasons of the year while also strengthening group dynamics.
